Erick Thohir Appoints Bayu Krisnamurthi As Director Of Perum Bulog, Replaces Buwas

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir appointed Bayu Krisnamurthi as President Director (Managing Director) of Perum Bulog. Bayu Krisnamurthi replaces Budi Waseso who was appointed as President Commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

The appointment was determined through the Decree of the Minister of SOEs number SK-341/MBU/12/2023 dated December 1, 2023 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of Perum BULOG.

In the decree, Erick Thohir also added one director at Perum Bulog, namely the Director of Transformation and Institutional Relations. Thus, the composition of the directors of Perum Bulog, which was originally five directors, has now become six directors.

Budi Waseso or often called Buwas admitted that he accepted all policies from the government and he was grateful to have led Bulog for about five years.

"I believe that Bulog's replacement is better and will continue the transformation that has been running," said Buwas after the handover of the position online, quoted from a written statement on Saturday, December 2.

Meanwhile, for Bayu, his appointment as the new President Director of Bulog is a mandate and state trust that must be properly maintained. Remember, Bulog's position in maintaining food sovereignty.

"At the same time continuing Budi Waseso's leadership, which I think is good in overseeing the transformation of Bulog to this day," he said.

Bayu also praised Buwas' leadership for being able to bring Bulog through difficult times and keep Bulog's institution strong and being able to carry out every mission assigned by the state well.

After the certificate, Bayu as the new President Director of Bulog immediately held a short limited meeting with the old and new directors to discuss the next steps ahead of the Christmas and New Year 2024 momentum as well as other policies facing global complexity and uncertainty.

Along with the replacement of the composition of Perum Bulog's directors, Erick Tohir also appointed Arief Prasetyo Adi as Chairman of the Bulog Corporation Supervisory Board replacing Bayu Krisnamurthi.

For your information, Bayu Krisnamurthi served as Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) for the 2011-2014 period. Then, he was appointed as Chairman of the Bulog Corporation Supervisory Board.

Now, Bayu is ready to continue the leadership that has been carried out by Buwas, namely being the President Director of Perum Bulog.
