Buwas Appointed As Komut Semen Indonesia, What About The Position Of President Director Of Bulog?

JAKARTA - Budi Waseso or Buwas was officially appointed as the main commissioner (commut) and independent commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR). Currently, Buwas serves as President Director (Managing Director) of Perum Bulog.

Based on the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Regulation Number PER-11/MBU/06/2021, members of SOE directors are prohibited from holding concurrent positions as directors of SOEs, state-owned enterprises, private-owned enterprises; board of commissioners/supervisory boards at SOEs and other companies; other structural and functional positions in central and/or regional government agencies.

Then, what about the position of the President Director of Bulog who is currently serving as Buwas?

The Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said that with the appointment of Buwas as an independent commissioner and commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, he could no longer concurrently serve as President Director of Perum Bulog.

"When he was appointed as the main commissioner in the Semen Indonesia Group, he automatically couldn't concurrently serve as President Director of Bulog," he told reporters, in Jakarta, Friday, December 1.

Furthermore, Arya said that Buwas would automatically no longer serve as President Director of Bulog when his appointment of Decree (SK) as an independent commissioner and commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk officially came out.

"When the SK SIG comes out, automatically, he will also no longer be the President Director in Bulog," explained Arya.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir appointed Budi Waseso or Buwas as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

The appointment of Buwas as the Commissioner of the issuer codenamed GIS was decided at the 2023 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held today, in Jakarta, with the agenda of changing the composition of the Company's management.

For your information, Buwas himself has served as President Director of Perum Bulog since April 27, 2018. Currently, Buwas is undergoing a second term as president director after previously the position was extended.
