JAKARTA - Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML) are committed to supporting the production target of 12 billion cubic feet per day (BSCFD) according to the SKK Migas launched. Currently, HCML is the largest gas producer in East Java.

VP Operations HCML, Perkasa Sinagabariang said that as an operator of the Madura Strait Working Area (WK), East Java, HCML is committed to remaining the largest gas producer in East Java, especially and Indonesia in the future.

Furthermore, Perkasa said the production of the HCML gas sales peak is currently 250 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet per day) and is the largest in East Java and Central Java. HCML currently has 3 main fields that have produced, namely BD Field, 2M Field, and MAC Field.

"From the three HCML fields, namely the BD, 2M (MDA-MBH), and MAC, KKKS HCML is the largest gas producer, with a production percentage of 30 percent of total gas production in the East Java region," said Perkasa when met at the HCML Metering Station (GMS), Pasuruan, East Java, Monday, November 27.

Perkasa said the production of the BD Field was supported by 3 main facilities, namely the Offshore Wellhead Platform (WHP), Gas Metering Station (GMS) located in the city of Pasuruan, and the Production Facility Floating, Storage, and Demolition or Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO).

The total production capacity from this field is around 120 MMSCFD and 8,000 BCPD (barrel condensates per day). Based on data as of October 31, 2023, currently the BD field sends gas sales of 110 MMSCFD with 6,000 barrels of condensate per day.

Meanwhile, Field 2M (MBH and MDA) has a configuration of two offshore platform facilities (MBH and MDA Pavilion) with one floating production facility (Floating Production Unit/FPU) with a gas production capacity of 127 MMSCFD and a gas sales capacity of 120 MMSCFD.

"The FPU facility itself has a production capacity of 175 MMSCFD and is expected to accommodate gas from other field developments in the future (MDK and MBF)," he explained.

Perkasa said that the MAC field has a gas production capacity of 54 MMSCFD and a gas sales capacity of 50 MMSCFD. The MAC field consists of Wellhead Platform and Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU). MOPU Prameswari 8 has its own privileges, because it is the first MOPU whose design and fabrication process is carried out entirely in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Perkasa said 100 percent of the gas produced by HCML was used to support the needs of fertilizer, electricity and domestic industries. This is in line with SKK Migas' policy in prioritizing domestic energy needs.

"We hope that through the 3 existing fields, we can encourage the growth of various industries in East Java in absorbing the potential supply of gas from HCML. As we know in the future there will be several industrial developments in East Java," said Perkasa.

Meanwhile, Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D Suryodipuro, said that with the three fields that have been producing and several new fields to be developed, it is hoped that it will not only increase HCML production but also become more integrated for more massive production activities.

For future plans, HCML is currently developing two new fields, namely the MDK Field which is scheduled for online in 2026, and the MBF Field in 2027.

"HCML will continue to strive to develop new gas fields to maximize the utilization of natural gas in Indonesia, this is also accompanied by the aim of supporting SKK Migas in achieving gas production of 12 BSCFD (billion cubic foot standards per day) by 2030," he said.
