PLN Successfully Serves Sail Electricity In Cendrawasih Bay 2023 In Papua Without Flickering

PT PLN (Persero) successfully supported the Sahuk Cenderawasih (STC) 2023 peak event which was held in the Samau Beach Area, Biak Numfor on Thursday, November 23 with electricity supply without flickering.

The event was also attended by President Joko Widodo.

When delivering his remarks, President Jokowi said, Papua, which has abundant natural resources, is Indonesia's homepage in the Pacific Region.

Cenderawasih Bay, which has the richest marine ecosystem, can be the right choice to introduce maritime, maritime, tourism and socio-cultural potential for Indonesia.

This is in accordance with this year's STC which carries the theme Strengthening Indonesia's Maritime Sovereignty in the Pacific.

"With the peak of the Sail Teluk Cendrawasih 2023 event, culture, dance, music, local Papuan products can be introduced to national and even international and global levels. This will encourage the number of tourists, will encourage event creators, will encourage investors to come and advance the land of Papua," Jokowi said in his remarks quoted on Saturday, November 25.

In order to ensure securing the electricity supply of Sail Teluk Cenderawasih 2023, PLN Distribution Director Adi Priyanto said, PLN ensures the reliability of electricity for the event where supply is supported by the Biak electricity system which has adequate generating capacity.

With a capacity of 36.39 KW and a peak load of 16.7 KW, there is still a power reserve of 19.69 KW.

"Alhamdulillah, PLN's electricity supply has proven reliable, so that peak events can take place without obstacles. By using and maximizing the layered security scheme (adaptive defense scheme), the event takes place with electricity without flickering," said Adi.

General Manager of PLN for the Main Units of the Papua and West Papua Regions, Budiono said, his party was ready 24 hours to provide security at 12 locations that were included in the series of events.

To ensure the reliability of supply, the unit also prepared supporting equipment in the form of 3 Mobile Substation Units (UGB), 3 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 9 generator units and a Mobile Cable and Kubikel Unit (UKKB).

We seek a critical point not to blink, especially for the opening, peak and closing events. Thank you for the hard work of all the electrical fighters and also the stakeholders involved," concluded Budiono.
