JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) proposed an additional 3 kg Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) quota.

Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Riva Siahaan said this was done because public consumption continued to increase towards the end of 2023. Riva proposed adding a quota of 2.14 percent to 8.19 million MT from the original set of 8 million MT.

In fact, previously Pertamina had projected 3 kg LPG consumption this year to reach 8.28 million MT.

"Of the 8.28 prognosis quotas calculated based on consumption in 2023, a recount has been carried out, and received approval from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to be submitted to the Ministry of Finance for a meeting with 3 ministers of 8.19 million MT," said Riva in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, quoted Wednesday, November 22.

In addition to LPG 3 kg, Pertamina also proposed additional quota for subsidized matter of 7.8 percent or 1.3 million kilo liters (KL) from the initial quota set at 16.8 million KL. With this addition, the subsidized diesel quota is 18.1 million KL.

Pertamina also presented an additional quota for kerosesine or kerosene whose consumption increased by 0.8 percent.

"So please help in proposing the adjustment of quotas from 500 thousand KL to 504,000 KL," added Riva.

Meanwhile, for the Pertalite Special Assignment Type (JBKP), said Riva, it is still below the quota so there is no need for addition.

"Alhamdulillah, until now the JBKP Pertalite is still under quote, so everything is still on stream," concluded Riva.
