Pertamina Non-Subsidized Fuel Prices Drop, When Will Pertalite?

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) adjusted the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) on November 1, 2023.

This fuel price adjustment applies to several products such as Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex.

Quoted from the MyPertamina page, Pertamax for the DKI area and its surroundings was observed to have dropped from the previous price of Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 13,400 per liter.

Then Pertamax Turbo was observed to fall from Rp16,600 to Rp15,500 per liter, Dexlite decreased to Rp16,950 from the previous Rp17,200.

Regarding the fate of subsidized fuel such as Pertalite, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that non-subsidized fuel prices do follow the world oil price index which continues to fluctuate.

"So the oil is now 92, then 90, right. Now back again 86 are fluctuating," he told reporters at his office, Friday, November 3.

For this reason, the increase and decrease in domestic oil prices are still uncertain so that the government is still unable to make price adjustments to subsidized fuel products.

However, Arifin ensured that the subsidized fuel price would still be fixed and would not change.

"So this is also going up and down not necessarily yes. (Following) International oil price fluctuations. But subsidies remain," added Arifin.

Previously, when met separately, the Director General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Tutuka Ariadji said that the decline in subsidized fuel prices was still difficult.

This is because the economy of Pertalite is still quite high from the selling price, so the price decline cannot be done.

Based on the calculation, the price of Pertalite is still in the range of Rp. 12,000 per liter from the current selling price which is set at Rp. 10,000 per liter.

"The economic price is still more. More than 2,000," he said when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Wednesday, November 1.

Furthermore, he said, if the decline in non-subsidized fuel had not become a driving force for people who had migrated using pertalite, they would return to using Pertamax.
