Heat Up The Mobilization Of Red Cayenne Pepper To The Deficit Area, This Is The Goal

JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) continues to strive to stabilize the supply and price of red cayenne pepper by mobilizing supplies from surplus areas to deficit areas.

"We encourage local governments to build cooperation between regions so that chilies in areas that are still produced and stable prices can distribute chilies to deficit areas or regions with high chili prices," said Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.

Arief said, currently the supply of red chili pepper to the Kramat Jati Main Market has decreased by about 6 percent, because the harvest source in the production center area has decreased.

Although the supply to the market is still relatively normal in the range of 30 tons per day, Arif continued, his party has coordinated with various parties such as the Ministry of Agriculture and chili champions to continue supplying to the market with a volume of 3 tons to 5.5 tons.

In addition, in order to support the stability of supply and price of chilies at the Main Market, Badanas also facilitates Food Distribution (FDP) from surplus areas to deficit areas through inter-regional cooperation by optimizing the preparation of APBD funds and Unexpected Expenditures (BTT).

"Banas regularly attends the Inflation Coordination Meeting carried out by the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to emphasize that each region heats these funds to maintain supply stability and food prices in their respective regions," said Arief.

In addition, through the deconcentration fund allocated in Badanas, provincial and district/city governments continue to intensify the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) in all regions. To date, the total GPM activities are targeting up to 1,133 locations with details of 257 locations in 35 provinces and 876 locations in 332 districts/cities.

From data from the Panel Panjang Harga Pangan Bapanas on October 30, 2023, the national average price of red cayenne pepper (CRM) at the producer level is IDR 50,310/kg. Still above HAP of IDR 25,000-IDR 31,500 per kg.

The highest price in North Sulawesi is IDR 72,500 per kg and the lowest is IDR 25,400 per kg in South Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, at the consumer level, the national average price of CRM is Rp. 51,872 per kg, still above HAP of Rp. 40,000-Rp. 57,000 per kg. The highest price in Maluku is Rp. 93,419 per kg and the lowest in NTT is Rp. 43,000 per kg.
