Erick Thohir Appoints His Expert Staff As Director Of IBC Institutional Relations

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir appointed Reynaldi Istanto as Director of Institutional Relations of PT Industri Battery Indonesia (IBC). Previously, Reynaldi was an expert staff of Erick Thohir.

This appointment was based on a letter from the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises with No. SR-452/MBU/08/2023 dated August 30, 2023 regarding the Proposal for Changes in the Board of Directors of the Company and the Circuit Decision of Shareholders in Lieu of the General Meeting of Shareholders of PT. Indonesian Battery Industry on September 19, 2023.

IBC Corporate Secretary Muhammad Sabik said the decision to appoint Reynaldi Istanto as Director of Institutional Relations was not solely about the appointment of positions.

"But it is more about the company's commitment to building closer relationships with stakeholders and strengthening the foundations of the battery industry in the country," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, November 1.

Sabik said the change in the Board of Directors' composition in PT Industri Battery Indonesia is also a positive step to answer the challenges of PT Industri Battery Indonesia in the future and also consider the needs of the organization and long-term interests of PT Industri Battery Indonesia.

"The addition of positions to the board of directors allows PT Industri Battery Indonesia to maximize relations between shareholders and stakeholders of PT Industri Battery Indonesia and strengthen the position of PT Industri Battery Indonesia in facing the challenges of the battery industry and the current and future battery-based electric motor vehicle ecosystem," he said.

For your information, Reynaldi is an alumni of the Political Sciences of Brawijaya University and the Advanced Master of Globalization and Development at the University of Answer, Belgium.

Reyndi himself was previously an Expert Staff to the Minister of SOEs trusted by Erick Thohir to lead the Global Value Chains Working Unit and the Global Relations and Investment Team during his career at the Ministry of SOEs.

Several major initiatives such as PMO BUMN Support for the G20, the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum, and PMO BUMN Support for the ASEAN Summit, are all under the leadership of Reynaldi.

The establishment of "Indonesia Incorporated" is one of the initiatives of the Minister of SOEs that Reynaldi has held as a flagship program to encourage collaboration and synergy between SOEs and Indonesian business entities on the global stage.
