JAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers (Gapmmi) projects that the food and beverage (mamin) industry will grow by seven percent ahead of the upcoming 2024 general election (election).

"In my opinion, throughout the peaceful and safe elections, it will certainly have a positive impact on the food and beverage industry. In my opinion, the projected growth of the food and beverage industry is around 6-7 percent," said Gapmmi Chairman Adhi S Lukman when contacted by VOI, Monday, October 30.

Adhi assessed that the 2024 election activities would definitely require consumption, thereby increasing the growth of the food and beverage industry.

"Because every activity must have consumption, and it will be quite long until early 2025, the regional head election (pilkada) will be completed," he said.

He added that the food industry that will stand out ahead of the 2024 election is in the food sector, namely spice products.

"The spices are good, but the average food is better than drinks," he concluded.

For your information, the General Elections Commission (KPU) has set an election campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, while the vote is scheduled for February 14, 2024.
