Significant Growth, BRI's Wholesale Business Performance Is Getting More Solid

JAKARTA - The wholesale business segment of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI is increasing along with the condition of the Indonesian economy which is increasingly recovering after Covid-19.

BRI's Director of Wholesale and Institutional Business Agus Noorsanto said the wholesale segment itself has positive prospects in line with the increasingly recovered economy where large corporations began to rise after the pandemic. Agus explained that his party is committed to spurring the growth of the wholesale segment in encouraging BRI's business expansion.

"Even though BRI has a focus on the MSME segment, the wholesale business still has its own role in encouraging sustainable performance growth for BRI," Agus said in a statement to VOI, Tuesday, October 24.

This is shown from the debt portfolio of the BRI corporate segment (bank only) which continues to increase. In 2020 it was recorded at IDR 168.9 trillion, 2021 amounting to IDR 172.4 trillion, 2022 worth IDR 180.6 trillion and in the first semester of 2023 IDR 195.7 trillion. The increase was also accompanied by the improving quality of credit.

The increasingly recovered economic condition makes us even more optimistic. We also implemented the right strategy in responding to this, so as to be able to record solid growth," he said.

Agus detailed that the agricultural, mining, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, and the telecommunication sector are the main drivers of the company's wholesale credit growth. Agus emphasized that to continue to spur wholesale and institutional businesses, BRI is committed to updating services with world-class quality.
