BI Kaltim Boosts Economic Growth Through Empowerment Of MSMEs

JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Representative Office of East Kalimantan Province continues to encourage economic growth through empowering MSMEs by increasing their capacity, marketing and financing.

"We have continued to take various ways since a few years ago, such as training, coaching, and assistance until then many MSMEs have advanced to class and have succeeded in exporting local commodities," said Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of East Kalimantan Province (BI Kaltim) Budi Widihartanto in Samarinda, Saturday (21/10), quoting Antara.

According to him, BI Kaltim also held a "Kaltim Paradise of The East 2023" at the Atrium Utama Big Mall Samarinda which was officially opened on Friday (20/10).

This activity is carried out in the context of empowering local MSMEs, optimizing the creative economy and tourism sectors in East Kalimantan, namely activities by holding exhibitions of superior MSME products, coaching clinics, fashion shows, educational talk shows, competition fun walks, to business matching.

Through East Kalimantan Paradise Of The East 2023, he said, efforts were made to encourage economic growth through empowering MSMEs, then increasing the capacity, marketing and financing of MSMEs.

"With the opening of MSME showcasing, especially handicrafts and wastra from various regions in East Kalimantan, it also enlivens the activities of East Kalimantan Paradise of The East this year. This is an effort to increase digital transactions. In this activity, East Kalimantan Great Sale also holds transactions using QRIS," he said.

In the future, the BI Kaltim Representative Office will continue to collaborate with various parties to support and encourage MSMEs, in order to be able to continue to explore local advantages through high-quality products and services, so as to be able to meet the needs of local to global markets which ultimately increase inclusive growth.

Meanwhile, Assistant III of the East Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat, Riza Indra Riadi, gave his appreciation to BI Kaltim for their hard work and dedication to continue developing the economy in East Kalimantan, including the implementation of East 2023 East Paradise of East which is very useful for introducing local products.

It is hoped that East Kalimantan, which is BI's annual agenda, can be a forum for the integration of various activities to encourage inclusive economic growth.

"Even this activity is also an important momentum in preparation for the transfer of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), so that through empowering MSMEs, optimizing the creative economy and tourism sectors with various series of activities, it becomes a separate encouragement for the perpetrators," said Riza.
