The Sentolo-Wates Railway Can Be Passed Again

JAKARTA - The upstream route between Sentolo-Wates Station is sterile and can now be passed back by train (KA). However, the train that passes this route has a limited speed of 40 km per hour.

For your information, this line previously could not be passed by the train because of the fall of the Argo Semeru 17 train, the Surabaya Gubeng-Gambir relation at KM 520 + 4 plots of roads between Sentolo Station and Wates Station on Tuesday, October 17.

EVP of Corporate Secretary KAI Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji said the first train that passed the route was the Argo Lawu train, the Solo Balapan-Gambir relationship, at 11.35 WIB.

"KAI would like to thank all stakeholders involved in the process of normalizing the rail line between Sentolo-Wates. Currently, one rail line can be passed at a limited speed. A number of rail line repairs by strengthening the rail road body continue to be carried out so that the second lane can operate again immediately," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 18.

After the incident of the downturn of the Argo Semeru train, KAI immediately attempted to evacuate the facilities and repair of the rail line by involving dozens of officers. In the process of evacuating the train series, KAI used 4 Cranes, 1 Train Helper, and 1 MTT.

For the cause of the train accident, KAI together with related parties such as the NTSC, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Police continue to investigate the cause of this accident.

As a result of the incident, several trains experienced delays in arrival, including:

1. KA 17 (Semeru), Surabaya Gubeng - Gambir relationship arrived 00.35 slowly 295 minutes

2. KA 55 (Gajayana), the Surabaya Gubeng - Gambir relationship arrived 05.00 at 110 minutes late

3. KA 9 (Argo Dwipangga), Solo - Gambir relationship arrives 05.07 at 97 minutes late

4. KA 57 (Brawijaya), the Malang Gambir relationship came 07.06 in 127 minutes late

5. KA 59 (Bima), the Surabaya Gubeng Gambir relation, is expected to arrive 09.44 in no time of 224 minutes

6. KA 139 (Monja Utama Yogyakarta), Yogyakarta relation Pasar Senen, came 01.43 slowly 40 minutes

7. KA 87 (President Senja Solo), Solo Pasar Senen relation, arrived 04.14 in 79 minutes.

8. KA 103 (Singasari), Yogyakarta relation Pasar Senen, arrived 07.07 at 58 minutes late

In providing compensation to passengers affected by this accident, KAI complys with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation (Permenhub) Number PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for Transportation of People by Train, stating that compensation for intercity train delays is as follows:

1. Delayed train departures for more than 1 hour, passengers can cancel tickets and get refunds for all ticket fees. If you don't cancel the ticket, then:

a. Given light drinks for delays for more than 1 hour.

b. Given drinks and heavy snacks for delays for more than 3 hours.

2. If the intercity train arrives late at the destination station, then the passenger gets:

a. Food and soft drinks in the third hour of delay.

b. Food and heavy drinks at the fifth hour of delay.

c. Passengers can choose to continue their journey or switch to other transportation and get replacement of ticket money.

3. If there are obstacles on the way, so the train cannot proceed to the destination station, then the organizer must:

a. Provide trains or other transportation to the destination station.

b. Give compensation for a ticket.

Regarding the affected victims, KAI noted that there were a total of 32 victims of minor injuries and all of them had been given health services, of which 4 people had been treated at the nearest hospital (3 of whom were declared to be able to go straight home and 1 other person was being investigated).

"KAI apologizes profusely for the unwanted events by all parties. KAI and related parties continue to make efforts to normalize the route so that the trip returns smoothly," concluded Agus.
