BANDUNG - eFishery, an acultural technology company from Indonesia celebrates its 10th anniversary in Bandung, West Java, today.
The first aquatic company in Indonesia is known to have established since 2013 and has disrupted traditional fish and shrimp cultivation methods by providing integrated solutions in the acultural ecosystem by offering end-to-end platforms to access feed availability, funding, and markets for fish and shrimp cultivators through technology-based innovation.
"When eFishery first arrived in Indonesia, the acultural industry was still an industry that had not been widely watched by people, while its potential and market were still very promising if it was put to good use," said eFishery CEO & Co-Founder Gibran Huzaifah at a press conference in Bandung, West Java, Wednesday, October 11.
Gibran assessed that currently the fishing industry in Indonesia has grown rapidly and quite a number of companies have participated in the fisheries and fisheries sector with different focus.
"So, eFishery will continue to be present to bring innovative solutions based on technology to support the development of the Indonesian aquatic industry and the ecosystems that are members of it," he said.
On the same occasion, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also congratulated his anniversary to eFishery virtually.
Jokowi hopes that eFishery can be a driving force for the progress of the fish and shrimp cultivation industry in Indonesia.
"Happy 10th birthday to eFishery, hopefully it can continue to be a driving force for the progress of the fish and shrimp cultivation industry in Indonesia, as well as be able to improve the welfare of the cultivators," he said.
As for the past 1 decade, eFishery has succeeded in facilitating up to IDR 8 trillion in total sales of fish and shrimp, and IDR 4 trillion in total sales of fish and shrimp feed transactions.
eFishery is known to have collaborated with several financial institutions registered and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), such as Bank OCBC NISP, Amartha, Investree, and Kredivo, to provide access to an inclusive digital economy for fish cultivators and shrimp farmers through the Kabayan program (Love, Pay, Later).
