Increase Aviation Industry Cooperation, Boeing Officially Officed In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Boeing Company officially opened a new office in Jakarta. With this new strategic office, Boeing will be closer to partners and customers in Indonesia, and support the growth of the aviation industry in this country.

On the sidelines of opening a new office, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) and Boeing Company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase cooperation in the aviation industry.

The signing was carried out by the Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations of the Ministry of Transportation, M. Mauludin representing the Director General of Civil Aviation with the Vice President Commercial Sales and Marketing Global Strategic Initiates, Mr. John W. Bruns representing the Boeing Company.

The cooperation includes a number of important aspects in the field of civil aviation such as airworthiness, flight operation, increased personnel capacity, air navigation services, air transportation, and sustainable flight initiatives.

Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations of the Ministry of Transportation, M. Mauludin said the Directorate General of Hubud welcomed this MoU as an important step in increasing the capacity and sustainability of the Indonesian aviation industry.

Furthermore, he said partnerships with the Boeing Company, one of the important stakeholders in the aviation industry, would help create greater opportunities for economic and technological growth in the country.

"This MoU is very useful for Indonesia in facing the challenges of the aviation industry in Indonesia such as supply chain and human resources. We will work together in developing quality human resources in the field of aviation which includes training and skills development," said Mauludin in an official statement, Thursday, October 5.

In addition, Mauludin added, the Directorate General of Hubud and Boeing Company will share knowledge and experience with each other in the technical aspects of aviation, including flight safety and security, aircraft maintenance, and technological innovation.

Boeing Company also expressed its commitment to support aviation development in Indonesia and cooperate with the government in achieving joint goals in terms of flight safety and sustainable service quality.

Meanwhile, John W. Bruns, Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing Global Strategic Initiatives, said that Boeing has a cooperation relationship of almost 75 years in the civil aviation industry in Indonesia and the MoU provides the foundation for developing collaboration with the Directorate General of Hubud, especially in achieving its goals, as well as vision and mission.

"Most of this cooperation will focus on joint efforts to improve flight safety in Indonesia, which includes exchanging information and personnel training. Of course, we will also support the capacity expansion of the civil aviation system in Indonesia," said John.

Both sides hope that this MoU will be an important milestone in the collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and the Boeing Company, together towards a bright future in the Indonesian aviation industry.
