Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: JPM Dukuh Atas Becomes An Example Of Trasportation Infrastructure Connectivity Development

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the construction of the Dukuh Atas Multipurpose Crossing Bridge (JPM) could be an example of the development of integrated transportation infrastructure connectivity by prioritizing synergy.

"It is impossible for us to build transportation but there is no intermodal integration. So make this place a mass and a model for other places," he said in an official statement, written Thursday, September 14.

Previously, JPM Dukuh Atas was inaugurated by the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi and the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono on Wednesday, September 13.

Budi appreciated the involvement of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and all parties involved in the construction of the Dukuh Atas Multifunction Crossing Bridge (JPM).

"This is clear evidence that through joint efforts we can realize the development and development of integrated, safe, comfortable, and secure transportation infrastructure connectivity," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Tuhiyat said that since it was operated on August 28, 2023, this bridge has been passed by around 70,000 people. JPM Dukuh Atas was built on an assignment from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation to MRT Jakarta with funding using a creative financing scheme, namely not using the APBD or APBN.

Tuhiyat said the 235 meter long bridge is one of the main parts in the development of the Dukuh Atas transit-oriented area. Even though it is called a bridge, technically the construction of the building is not a bridge.

"So, this JPM was built with the principle of developing intermodal connectivity, inclusive public spaces, and urban experience enriching, so it is hoped that it can become a new urban identity and destination," he said.

For your information, the development of the Dukuh Atas area is carried out because this area is one of the busiest areas with five modes of public transportation.

The five modes of public transportation are MRT Jakarta, LRT Jabodebek, Commuter Line Train, Airport Train, Transjakarta BRT, and priority points for online transportation.
