JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP Zone 7 (PEP Zone 7) is rejuvenating subsea pipes in several offshore mines as a form of commitment to running capable upstream oil and gas operations supported by reliable asset integrity.

General Manager of PEP Zone 7 Afwan Daroni said that work on replacing the XAP-OGT Balongan Jatibarang Field main oil pipeline, especially the X-Ray structure in the northern waters of the Java Sea, had been successfully completed.

"Thank God PEP Zone 7 was able to complete the project which has experienced many challenges, especially related to weather which has resulted in delays for the safety of all parties," said Afwan in Bekasi, West Java, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 11.

He explained that the replacement of the six kilometer long pipe went through stages and careful planning with a construction time of five months apart from the technical stage.

"With the completion of this project, PEP Jatibarang Field has succeeded in recording production optimization of up to 800 barrels of oil per day," he said.

He admitted that X-Ray's contribution as one of the offshore mines managed by PEP Zone 7 in the West Java area was quite significant in increasing production with total production of 11,837 barrels of oil per day or BOPD and gas production reaching 232.68 MMSCFD.

He said that the completion of this project was one of the achievements in maintaining the continuity of oil and gas operations while increasing operational reliability in the process of sending oil from offshore platforms to land, namely at the Balongan Terminal, Indramayu Regency.

"This achievement is supported by the Indramayu Regional Government and synergy with Pertamina's affiliate, namely Elnusa, as the work implementer," he said.

Afwan hopes that production of the X-Ray structure can continue to increase and increase Pertamina EP's production contribution in addition to other strategies, namely the development of the XMB structure in 2029 with a production target of around 3,000 BOPD.

He also stated that pipe rejuvenation work was being carried out in other offshore work areas under the Regional Java Subholding Upstream by PHE OSES in East Lampung and Seribu Islands water facilities along 50.6 kilometers starting in August 2023.

PT Pertamina EP Zone 7 has three operational fields including Jatibarang Field, Subang Field and Tambun Field with seven work areas including Cirebon Regency, Cirebon City, Indramayu, Majalengka, Karawang, Subang and Bekasi Regency.
