Collaboration With ITS, Sports Encourage Future Fit Business Through Ready For PROPER Conference 2023

JAKARTA - PT Olahkarsa Innovation Indonesia and the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) successfully held the Ready for PROPER Conference 2023 on Tuesday 29 August.

The activity, which is located at the Research Center Institute for Technology, Sepuluh November Surabaya, was held in a hybrid manner through a zoom meeting by presenting sources from multi-stakeholders including policy makers, academics from various scientific disciplines, as well as practitioners from the company.

Various agencies were also present as audiences in this activity ranging from elements of the government, companies, lecturers, to students.

Carrying the theme "PROPER for Sustainable & Future Fit Business", Ready for PROPER Conference 2023 this time is trying to pump up the spirit of multi-sectors, especially the industrial world in running business in a sustainable manner.

In the opening session, Olahkarsa Unggul Ananta Co-Founder & CEO hopes that through the implementation of the Ready for PROPER Conference, participants can gain an in-depth understanding of the components in the PROPER, in order to optimize the role of PROPER as an instrument towards future fitness and sustainable business.

'PROPER is part of the company's adaptation in future fitness. That any organization including the business sector must adapt and adapt to the challenges that exist in the future. Through PROPER instruments, the business sector is encouraged to adapt to developments and challenges ranging from the local, national, to global scope," he said.

The Chancellor of the Sepuluh November Institute, represented by Deputy Chancellor 4 for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumnian, Bambang Pramujati, ST, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D. expressed his gratitude for the collaboration that has been built to organize this activity.

He explained that while ITS continues to be committed to encouraging companies to carry out sustainable business practices. ITS has built a lot of cooperation with various companies in creating environmentally friendly innovations and technologies, including in conducting environmental management based on PROPER.

"The innovation carried out by ITS, God willing, can support activities related to energy efficiency, environmentally friendly technology, or CSR programs so that people around the industry feel the benefits," he explained

Meanwhile, the Director General of PPKL of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sigit Reliantoro M.Sc, which in this event is the keynote speaker, said that basically the PROPER is designed as a continuous learning process for PROPER participating companies. In the obedience criteria, the company is encouraged to implement SOPs in environmental management.

While in the criteria for more than compliance, the company is encouraged to reflect continuously through the eco-innovation program, whether the methods that have been done in environmental management have been effective and efficient or there are new, better ways.

The birth of these innovations is a feedback from the process of learning and implementing continuous improvement. Through this continuous learning process, the PROPER is indirectly encouraging companies to achieve future fitness.

Chairman of the ProPER Advisory Council Prof. Sudharto P. Hadi, MES, Ph.D in his presentation said that the criteria for the PROPER assessment continued to develop, one of which was aimed at encouraging the birth of a green leader'.

According to Prof. Sudharto, the company's leadership is a central figure in bringing companies to implement sustainable practices. Through PROPER, company leaders are encouraged to build an innovation and a system that supports sustainability practices in the company's operations.

As is known, one of the PROPER assessment sessions for gold candidates is a presentation from the CEOs or company leaders about how he brought his company from industrial culture which is only profit-oriented, towards sustainable culture that is social and environmentally oriented.
