Increase TKDN Portion, SIG Uses MSME Parts To Substitution Import Products

JAKARTA - GIS's commitment to increasing the use of domestic spare parts (spareparts) continues to enter a new chapter, this time by optimizing fostered MSME-based products. Through a series of trials, SIG fostered MSMEs have succeeded in producing pressure gauges that meet industrial standards that are ready to be used in SIG factories for import product substitution.

The use of the MSME-made pressure measuring instrument is in line with the operational excellence program target and increased use of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN). As of July 2023, GIS has recorded the realization of domestic spare parts expenditures reaching Rp397 billion. This amount is higher or exceeds the previously set target of Rp390 billion.

SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, the involvement of MSMEs in an effort to increase TKDN achievements was carried out through the MSME Development and Facilitation Program that had been set by the Company. This initiative is a form of SIG's alignment with the progress of the domestic industry and is expected to be able to move the country's economy.

"The coaching process carried out by SIG on fostered MSMEs that produce spare parts is carried out through three stages, namely product specification education, product sample trials, and direct performance tests at the GIS factory. If the results are in accordance with the needs and standards used, SIG will buy spare parts that have passed the trial," said Vita Mahreyni, in a written statement, Monday, August 29.

In addition to meeting the quality standards of the GIS Factory, this MSME-made pressure gauge called PT 3S International has international standards BS EN 837-1, which is the standard for determining the Bourdon Pressure Gauge specifications. SIG also encourages PT 3S International to market its homemade gauge pressure product on the market place platform, namely PaDi UMKM so that it can be used by other companies.

PT 3S International, which is included in the MSME group fostered by SIG, is a domestic company certified ISO 9001: 2015 that focuses on products of pressure and temperature measuring instruments, such as pressure gauge, bimetal thermometer, thermowell, and thermocouple.

Director of PT 3S International, Winto said, the Company's products have been tested and calibrated to ensure 100% reliability. In addition, PT 3S International products are also easy to install, as well as prioritize the health and safety of users. The success of the trial process for the gauge pressure at the GIS Factory proves that the products produced are feasible and functioning properly.

We hope that GIS and other domestic industries will continue to use domestic products, and we as manufacturing can be given the opportunity to support the needed spare parts," said Winto.
