North Fashion Festival 2023 Creative Economy Development Event In North Jakarta

The North Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency held the 2023 North Fashion Festival to encourage the sustainability of the Creative Economy sector and as an effort to promote various tourist destinations in the North Jakarta area.

Synergizes with the Regional National Arts Council (Dekranasda) of the North Jakarta City Region, MSME players from North Jakarta, BUMD and the private sector, North Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-dept. held events filled with various activities that raised fashion and handicraft sectors such as fashion shows, talk shows and education, bazaars and the 2023 Live Sketch Fashion Design Competition which was held for students. Live Sketch Fashion Design Competition 2023 is a competition to sketch the design of clothes on the spot which is also intended as a place to show skills in making fashion designs. This competition was attended by more than 100 vocational students majoring in Procedures from State Vocational School 23 North Jakarta and State Vocational School 33 North Jakarta.

Acting as a jury in this competition are Lenny Agustin, a fashion designer who consistently raises Indonesian culture in every design, Dewi Juaini, Deputy Chairman of the North Jakarta Dekranasda, and Sri Sintawati, one of the founders of Batik Sunter Nirmala, one of North Jakarta's leading MSMEs.

The winners of the competition are considered capable of showing their talents and skills in making clothes sketches directly at the location with extraordinary results.

In his report, the Head of the North Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-dept., Shinta Nindyawati, said that the activity involving the young generation of the nation's successors was still in commemoration of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I hope that the younger generation of Indonesia, especially in North Jakarta, will continue to be creative and competitive in the fashion sector," he concluded.

The North Fashion Show session featured outstanding works from North Jakarta MSMEs, namely Batik Marunda, Batik Sunter Nirmala, Batik Koja Authentic, Alda JP Design, and Morikoe. This lively event was deliberately designed to provide a creative space and opportunities for work and competitiveness in the creative economy sector.

The Mayor of North Jakarta and officials in the North Jakarta neighborhood also had the opportunity to visit every tenant to see firsthand the products of the superior MSMEs fostered by the North Jakarta City Dekranasda and provide support to entrepreneurs.
