PLN Alerts 1,520 Personnel To Guard The Celebration Of The 78th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia In All Regions Of Kalimantan

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero), the Kalimantan Distribution Main Unit and Weight Regulatory Center (UIP3B) handed over 1,520 personnel for Independence Alert in all Kalimantan for three days from 16 to 18 August 2023.

"Officers are spread across 19 posts ensuring the condition of the normal electricity system during the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia," said General Manager of PLN UIP3B Kalimantan, Abdul Salam Nganro in Banjarbaru, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 17.

He said that currently the supply in the East Kalimantan Interconnection system is safe with a capable capacity of 1,899 Mega-Watts (MW), while the peak load is predicted to reach 1,451 MW so that there is a power reserve of 448 MW.

Meanwhile, the Equatorial System in West Kalimantan is in a safe condition with a power reserve of more than 100 MW.

Regarding the primary energy supply, PLN guarantees that it will be in safe condition with the availability of an average energy supply of more than 15 operational days (HOP).

As a mitigation measure in the event of a disturbance, PLN has prepared 13 emergency tower units and nine heavy equipment to accelerate recovery in the event of a disturbance.

A total of 39 personnel from the Voluntary State Officers (PDKB) team were also on standby to carry out maintenance without the need to cut off electricity to customers.

Ahead of the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Salam said that his party is trying to increase reliability in the transmission network and substation by conducting assessments and preventive maintenance.

"A number of preventive steps to improve network reliability have been taken, please pray from the whole community that the electricity system will always be safe and reliable," said Salam.
