JIS Renovation For The U-17 World Cup, Ministry Of PUPR Will Build JPO To Road Access

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said there are a number of things that will be done to renovate the Jakarta International Stadium or JIS. This is to welcome the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

"For JIS, there are several activities that must be carried out. We are building a 430 meter (m) long bridge for people to park in Ancol, 5 meters wide," said Basuki at the PUPR Ministry Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 9.

Then, said Basuki, his party will also work on the access road behind JIS to go to Lake Ring or vice versa.

"CMNP makes off its ramp behind JIS to be able to create an access road around the Ring Reservoir, so that the toll ramp can be carried to the Ring Reservoir to be able to go to JIS," he said.

Basuki also emphasized that the Ministry of PUPR will work on access outside the stadium, so that access in and out can be easier.

"It seems that when you get out of the stadium it's okay, the doors are okay. It's just that when you get out of the stadium, if you don't add access to the pile at one (dot), it must be broken down," he said.

According to him, FIFA did not provide any further comments regarding the shortcomings in the JIS Stadium, so there was no need for further improvement.

"From the inside, there is no comment from FIFA itself," he concluded.
