JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) received the highest title Unqualified (WTP) for the seventh time on the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Financial Statements for Fiscal Year 2022 based on the results of the examination by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"We are grateful that we can still maintain this WTP opinion for the seventh time," said ESDM Minister Arifin Tasrif during the submission of the BPK RI Examination Result Report on the Financial Report and Financial Report of Grants of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for Fiscal Year 2022, at the BPK Office, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 8 August.

In his statement, in Jakarta, Tuesday, Minister Arifin said the results were obtained because the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was always guided by government accounting standards in accordance with Government Regulation Number 71 of 2010 concerning Government Accounting Standards and related legal products.

According to him, in compiling financial reports, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources always pays attention to aspects of suitability with Government Accounting Standards (SAP), adequate disclosure in accordance with those regulated in the SAP, compliance with laws and regulations, and the effectiveness of the Internal Control System (SPI).

"By paying attention to the aspects in question, we have maintained the quality of the financial statements that we have compiled so that they can be presented properly, far from material wrong, and comply with the relevant laws and regulations," said Arifin.

The examination of financial reports carried out by BPK every year aims to provide an opinion on the fairness of the presentation of financial reports.

BPK also has standards that are strictly used in carrying out state financial audits, namely the State Financial Audit Standard or SPKN.

For the WTP's achievements, Arifin asked all levels at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to maintain WTP opinions and follow up on BPK's findings and recommendations and do not want repeated findings on the examination of financial reports in the following years.

"There are still BPK findings that we need to follow up on. As an auditee, we agree on the findings of the examination and will continue with recommendations for improving our management and future financial reporting," said Arifin.

Member IV of BPK Haerul Saleh revealed that the results of the examination showed that the follow-up which had been completed in the second semester of 2022 was 82.48 percent or had been followed up by 1,116 recommendations from 1,353 recommendations.

This is an increase when compared to the follow-up which has been completed in the first semester of 2022 of 80.93 percent.

"The completion of the follow-up to the second semester of 2022 is 82.48 percent, above the BPK Main Performance Indicator value of 75 percent," he said again.

Haerul hopes that the active role of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to coordinate the implementation of the follow-up is in accordance with its authority.

"We remind the Secretary-General and Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to make maximum efforts to complete the follow-up to BPK recommendations, so that LHP can provide benefits for improving state financial management," said Haerul.
