Trade Minister Zulhas Destroys Illegal Import Products Worth IDR 12 Billion In Sidoarjo

JAKARTA - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan destroyed imported products worth Rp12 billion for violating (illegal) regulations at the Surya Terang Warehouse Complex, Sidoarjo, East Java, Monday 24 July. "We are working with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the High Prosecutor's Office and the police to destroy illegal products," said Zulkifli Hasan in Sidoarjo, quoted from Antara. He said the imported products stormed the domestic market without documents and hit the Indonesian industry and economy "Therefore, we must take quick and decisive steps in the midst of today's tight competition," said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan., as well as water gauges.

In his statement in Sidoarjo, he said that Indonesia's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have extraordinary capabilities and are already on par with other countries.

But if it is disturbed like this, the industry will be less competitive with used and illegal products that flood the market. This is certainly very detrimental.

"We continue to consistently eradicate and destroy these items. This is a shock therapy. This is a very important task to protect the Indonesian economy. Because if the economy grows, prosperity and welfare increase. But if the economy is disrupted, unemployment will increase," he said in a press statement.

He appreciated the cooperation of various parties who have fought illegal products to protect the Indonesian economy. "We are grateful for the cooperation of all parties. We continue to consistently fight used and illegal goods in the country. If we fight this, our economy will grow, MSMEs develop, we can flood other countries with our products with better quality," he said. The destruction was carried out as a follow-up to inspection and supervision outside the customs during 2023 in the work area of the Surabaya Tertib Niaga Supervision Center (BPTN).

This inspection and supervision is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 51 of 2020 concerning Inspection and Supervision of Imported Commercial Administration after going through the Customs Area (Post Border).

Pelanggaran yang dilakukan importir di antaranya tidak memiliki izin impor yang dipersyaratkan dalam Permendag 20 Tahun 2021 tentang Kebijakan dan Pengaturan Impor, sebagaimana telah diubah dengan Permendag Nomor 25 Tahun 2022 serta Permendag Nomor 26 tahun 2021 tentang Penetapan Standar Kegiatan Usaha dan Produk pada Penyelenggaraan Perizinan Berusaha Berbasis Risiko Sektor Perdagangan.Pada periode Januari-Juni 2023, BPTN Surabaya telah melakukan pengawasan terhadap 98 perusahaan dan 186 Dokumen Pemberitahuan Impor Barang (PIB). Melalui pengawasan tersebut, ditemukan 33 pelanggaran dengan rincian 13 dikenakan sanksi peringatan, 19 dikenakan sanksi peringatan dan pemusnahan barang, serta 1 dikenakan sanksi pemblokiran akses kepabeanan.Turut hadir dalam acara ini, Anggota DPR RI Zainudin Maliki, Kepala Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai Jawa Timur I Untung Basuki, Kepala Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Jawa Timur Iwan.
