JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) revealed that there was a fairly deep decline in coal exports in June 2023.
It was stated that the energy commodity posted exports worth US$2.67 billion last month.
BPS Main Secretary Atqo Mardiyanto said the figure fell 11.1 percent month to month (mtm) when compared to May 2023 which amounted to 3.01 billion US dollars.
"If viewed on an annual basis or year on year (yoy), coal exports fell more than 41.9 percent from June 2022 which was worth 4.60 billion US dollars," he said when giving a statement to reporters, Monday, July 17.
According to Atqo, the drop in Indonesia's leading commodities was caused by two important factors.
"This is due to a decrease in the volume of coal exports and in terms of price," he said.
