With the merger of these two companies, Perum Damri is officially the only State-Owned Road-Based Public Company.

The plan for this merger was initiated by the Ministry of SOEs to strengthen the company's performance. So that it strengthens its reach and expands the network in increasing national transportation connectivity.

Previously, Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that this merger was an initiative of the Ministry of SOEs as an effort to strengthen accessibility to community mobility and national connectivity which at the same time created added value or value creation and sustainability for state-owned companies.

"This initiative aims to strengthen the reach power and expand business networks so that overlapping due to having the same business focus between the two entities," said Tiko in his remarks at the Commemoration Ceremony of Perum PPD to Perum DAMRI which took place in Jakarta, Monday, June 19.

Tiko hopes that after this merger Perum DAMRI can work more efficiently and productively, both in running its business commercially, as well as in carrying out its function as an extension of the Government in providing community mobility services in 3 TP areas (Disadvantaged, Remote, Outermost and Border). This is of course to maintain the milestone of achieving value creation which has become a post-merging target.

"Perum DAMRI is expected to cooperate and increase multimodal integration with other transportation companies, so that they can become feed system accelerators on other modes of transportation such as buses, trains, high-speed trains, MRT, LRT, and even aircraft," he said.
