JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) opens outlets to accelerate the issuance of Processing Feasibility Certificates (SKP) for marine and fishery business actors to encourage downstreaming of the marine and fisheries sector.

The Director General of Strengthening Competitiveness for KKP Products said the SKP was issued for business actors who had met the requirements and procedures for processing good fish (GMP).

"The issuance of SKP is a form of downstream support, especially in terms of quality and fishery-based food safety," he said in a press release released on the official website on Sunday, July 18.

According to Budi, his party provides free-cost services for the community through SKP outlets which are expected to encourage the growth and development of downstreaming of the marine and fisheries sector in Indonesia.

"Through the SKP outlet, the government hopes that business actors can take advantage of this service in order to increase their productivity and business sustainability," he said.

On the same occasion, Director of Processing and Development Mutu of the Directorate General of KKP Widya Rusyanto revealed that the strategy implemented was a form of giving added value to the products produced.

"The government wants the downstream program of the fisheries sector to accelerate national economic growth," he said.
