Local Bazaar Excitement, Indonesia's MSME Promotion Event Competes Globally

JAKARTA - The Ministry of SOEs, in collaboration with PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) held an MSME Bazaar for Indonesia with the theme Seru-buruan Bazar Lokal which is located at the atrium Plaza Sarinah Floor Basement.

This event was inaugurated by Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development of the Ministry of SOEs, Mrs. Loto Srinaita Ginting, who was accompanied by Corporate Secretary of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Mr. Rachmat Hutama and President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Mr. Didiek Hartantyo. This event lasted for 4 days starting on Thursday, May 25, 2023 and ending on May 28, 2023.

In 2024, the President announced the target of achieving 30 million Go Digital MSMEs. So that the role of MSMEs becomes quite vital in driving Indonesia's economic growth, with the number reaching 99% of the total business units. The contribution of MSMEs to GDP reaches 60.5 percent, and absorbs labor by 96.9 percent of the total national employment.

Not only funding support, the need for contributions and collaboration of all parties in presenting integrated solutions for the development of MSMEs in Indonesia, both on the promotional side and market access, that's why the MSME Bazaar for Indonesia collaborates with KAI with the theme "The Spirit of the Local Bazaar is expected to help MSME players to expand market access and promote the advantage of their products."

This Local Bazaar call involved 88 MSME partners fostered by PGN and KAI, with the food and beverage business lines, Craft and Fashion and Beauty from various regions in Indonesia. The expansion of MSME market access at this event is not only through offline networks in Sarinah, but also online through the PaDi MSME marketplace which at the same time encourages the acceleration of the achievement of the Go Digital MSME target.

This event also presented various talk shows about MSMEs that can provide insight to the wide audience regarding the strategy and potential of MSMEs in Indonesia. There are inspiring talk shows, a variety of entertainment, and flooded with discounts to attract visitors to the Seruan Bazar Local.

Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development at the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting said, MSMEs have become one of Indonesia's economic supporters in going through various economic phases, the state must always be present in supporting and providing comprehensive solutions for the development of MSMEs.

"The excitement of the Local Bazaar is one of the government's efforts initiated by the Ministry of SOEs supported by the BUMN Organizers, in this case PGN and KAI, to help expand access to the MSME market, which is expected to be export-oriented in the future and contribute to the acquisition of foreign exchange for the country and the development of the Indonesian economy," said Loto, Thursday, May 25.

Corporate Secretary of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, Rachmat Hutama added, his party strongly supports everything related to the development of MSMEs, especially PGN fostered partners through various programs for our various assisted MSMEs.

"We understand that MSMEs not only need financial support for working capital and procurement of raw materials, but one of the most important is the improvement in the quality and ability of MSMEs, especially in the aspect of product marketing and how to expand their consumer base. We hope that the Local Bazar Seru-Serunan will provide concrete steps for MSMEs from various regions to reach a wider market, and compete globally," he explained.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Didiek Hartantyo said that his party had long supported the development of MSMEs in various regions through an integrated train, station and logistics ecosystem.

"We collaborate with various parties and continue to provide innovations to expand market sales and access for our fostered MSMEs. Of course, with the Call for Local Bazaars, this complements our support in promoting various types of MSMEs in the regions. MSMEs need to continue to advance to class, not only to become champions in the regions but also to contribute nationally and compete globally," said Didiek.
