JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) will soon operate. Currently, the progress, four traction substations have been electrified with a voltage of 27.5 kV starting May 18, 2023.

The electricity distribution is through the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) or Upper Electricity for the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train.

The total length of the OCS contact cable is 384.6 kilometers installed on the 142.3 km KCJB line.

General Manager of KCIC Corporate Secretary Rahadian Ratries asked residents around the high-speed train line to be careful.

In fact, he reminded that there was no activity around the route because it was prone to high voltage electrocution.

Not only that, residents are also prohibited from doing activities on the KCJB route, throwing foreign objects, playing kites or balloons around the KCJB route, entering the KCJB rail, tunnel, and bridge lines, and entering other prohibited areas.

Rahadian emphasized that all these prohibitions were intended to ensure the safety of the people along the line and operational security of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.

The entire OCS KCJB network has been electrified with a voltage of 27.5 KV. This indicates that people must be careful if they are active around the KCJB line because they can be electrocuted by high voltages," said Rahadian, written Friday, May 19.

Furthermore, Rahadian explained that the distribution of electricity for OCS means that high voltage from local electricity networks along fast train lines is changed through a traction substation into an industrial frequency AC current of one phase of 27.5 kV, which is then channeled to the OCS network above the train line to provide energy on the fast train.

The four transaction substations are placed in the Halim, Karawang, Walini, and Tegalluar areas.

All systems built are in accordance with international standards so that they have good quality, long life, and reliable safety.

Various steps, procedures, and handling of emergency conditions have been prepared to ensure the safety of all KCJB electricity systems.

With electricity being distributed to OCS, said Rahadian, this also indicates that the initial stages of the Commissioning Test run smoothly.

Through OCS which has been electrified, the Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) series has also begun to be prepared because in the near future it will pass on the KCJB route to carry out a thorough check.

Rahadian added that KCIC has also collaborated with the TNI-Polri in order to prevent disturbances that have the potential to endanger the Commissioning test to the KCJB operations later.

"KCIC reminds all parties not to commit theft, or damage to power lines, contact cables, and other structural elements in KCJB equipment and facilities because it can endanger the safety of KCJB travel," he explained.
