JAKARTA - In order to serve the flow of homecoming and return to Lebaran 2023, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) provides service support by preparing 146 clean and sanitation water facilities at 46 points throughout Indonesia.
"Clean water and sanitation support at the homecoming post point is one of the supports for providing smooth running for passing drivers," said Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti in a press statement, Wednesday, April 19.
The activity of providing facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) for Eid Al-Fitr 2023 at the Ministry of PUPR starts from 17-26 April 2023 and spread across 22 provinces.
The placements are at the Sapta Taruna Alert posts spread across toll road rest areas and non-toll roads, ports, terminals, airports, tourist areas, and potential areas that are crowded with people.
"The existence of additional toilets that have adequate sanitation facilities and infrastructure is very much needed by travelers, considering that the limited toilets at gas stations and rest areas are not enough to facilitate all travelers," said Diana.
Based on data from the Directorate General of Human Settlements, the facilities and infrastructure provided for homecoming are 1 toilet bus unit, 39 cabin toilet cars, 27 portable toilets, 37 public hydrants, 34 water scarcity cars, and 26 vacuum cars.
To improve the infrastructure service, the Ministry of PUPR also deployed 175 personnel spread across various service points that served 24 hours alternately.
In detail, the distribution of the PUPR Ministry's infrastructure fleet is located on the island of Sumatra, with 13 locations spread across North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu and Lampung, with sarpras consisting of 6 units of Cabin Toilet Cars, 8 units of Water Tank Cars, 4 units of Vacuum Tinja Cars, 12 units of Portable Toilets, 8 units of General Hidran, and 52 personnel.

Meanwhile, on the island of Kalimantan, there are 3 location points, spread across North Kalimantan and South Kalimantan Provinces, consisting of 1 Toilet Bus, 2 Cabinet Toilet Cars, 3 Water Tank Cars, 3 Vacuum Tinja Cars, 1 General Hidran Unit, and 18 personnel.
Furthermore, on the island of Sulawesi it is located at 3 location points, namely in South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Provinces, consisting of 3 units of Cabin Toilet Cars, 3 units of Water Tank Cars, 3 units of Vacuum Tinja Cars, 1 unit of Portable Toilet, 2 units of General Hidran, and 21 personnel.
There are also in Maluku Island which is located at 2 location points, namely the Provinces of Maluku and North Maluku, with a sarpras consisting of 1 Cabinet Toilet Car, 2 Water Tank Cars, 1 Vacuum Tinja Car, 2 Portable Toilets, and 10 personnel.
Finally, West Papua Province is located at 1 location, consisting of 1 Cabinet Toilet Car, 1 Water Tank Car, 1 Vacuum Tinja Car, and 4 personnel.
