Ministry Of Transportation Ensures Trains For Safely Controlled Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) continues to make efforts to ensure that rail transportation services during the Eid 2023 period can run safely and under control.

Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation Djarot Tri Wardhono said that in the face of the Eid transportation period that will soon take place the Directorate General of Railways has carried out ramp check activities in 9 Operational Areas (Daop) and 4 Regional Divisions (DIVRE).

Furthermore, Djarot said that his party had also conducted a railway safety inspection which was carried out together with PT. KAI (Persero) and NTSC by using the Inspection Train.

"The activity of ramp check and inspection of the railway is a routine activity that we carry out especially before the Lebaran and Nataru Transport period, as a form of preparation for this year's Eid Transportation, starting from February to March," he said in an official statement, quoted Friday, 17 March.

Djarot explained that the Ministry of Transportation will also set up an Integrated Monitoring Post in the framework of monitoring the implementation of transportation and the journey of domestic people by rail transportation during the 2023 Eid Transport period.

In addition, continued Djarot, in order to anticipate a surge in passengers, DJKA coordinated with operators to increase the frequency and capacity of train trips by optimizing the available ready-to-operate facilities.

"To support the smooth running of Lebaran Transportation as well as to anticipate train disruptions and accidents, we will deploy a number of personnel at the Pusdalopka & several stations to optimize the acquisition of incident information in real-time which is faster and more accurate," he said.

To anticipate disruptions to facilities and infrastructure, said Djarot, his party will also place locomotives for post offices, generator trains, cranes, and AMUS placement at specified locations.

"Hopefully this year's Eid Transport can run smoothly and have zero accidents like the previous year," added Djarot.

Apart from that, Djarot also invited the public to take part in the 2023 Free Motorcycle (Motis) program, which is currently still in its registration period.

"We hope for support from the public to participate in supporting the smooth running of safe, comfortable, and safe Eid Transportation, one of which is by taking advantage of the 2023 Free Motorcycle Homecoming program, which registration has been open since March 1, 2023 yesterday," concluded Djarot.
