Pertamina Boss: Buffer Zone Development Cannot Stop At Plumpang Depot

JAKARTA - Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said, not only the Fuel Oil Terminal (TBBM) or Plumpang Depo must fix the buffer zone, but also depots in other big cities.

"This condition (expansion) is not only in Plumpang, but also in several areas, especially TBBM in big cities. The construction of buffer zones should not only stop in Plumpang," he said in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Tuesday, March 14.

Furthermore, Nicke admitted that she had identified vital assets that needed improvements. Among them are refineries and TBBM.

"The need for buffer zones in our assets has been identified in the place of Mr. Alfian (Managing Director of Patra Niaga) there are 9 locations that need to be buffer zones, at the refinery there are 3 locations," he explained.

To avoid a similar incident, according to Nicke, the problem must be solved, namely expanding the buffer zone.

Nicke did not deny that the expansion of the buffer zone will have an impact on the relocation of some residents.

Therefore, said Nicke, his party will prepare a budget to compensate people affected by the expansion of buffer zones in Pertamina's vital assets.

"So the most urgent thing is the buffer zone to do. For that, of course, there will be release, there will be compensation, there will be compensation in accordance with the scheme or applicable rules," he said.
