JAKARTA – The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Frankfurt, Germany is said to fully support the participation of seven national companies in the Biofach 2023 exhibition in the City of Nuremberg which will take place from 14 February to 17 February.

Indonesian Consul General in Frankfurt Acep Somantri said the Biofach 2023 event was a strategic event to expand business networks abroad.

"We hope that the participants can take advantage of Biofach as a trade exhibition that can strengthen bigger business achievements," he said in a written statement quoted by the editorial team on Thursday, February 16.

According to Acep, Indonesia's presence at the Biofach 2023 exhibition has provided real benefits, namely the creation of direct business relationships with global buyers.

“The transaction value continues to increase. In the 2022 period, the participants managed to obtain a sales agreement of US$2.1 million," he said.

Acep added, for Indonesia, the German and European markets, in general, have great potential that must be utilized by organic product businesses.

He revealed that consumers of organic products in Germany continue to show significant growth, with an estimate of around 5 percent to 10 percent in the next few years as awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle increases.

“In 2021 global organic product sales in Germany are recorded at around 15.8 billion euros and are the largest in Europe. Through continuous promotion, it is hoped that Indonesian organic products can be accepted more widely in the European market," said Acep.

Meanwhile, seven companies in the Indonesian pavilion, namely Intrafood Singabera Indonesia, PT Natural Joy Foods, PT Herendong Green Farm, PT Blessing Indonesian Farmers, PT Kawanasi Sehat Dasacatur, PT Natural Indococonut Organik, and CV Hugo Inovasi.

Meanwhile, a number of other Indonesian companies were also seen opening booths independently in addition to several companies attending as visitors in order to continue business contracts with their clients.
