IDX Says There Are 33 Companies Queuing For IPO

JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) stated that 50 companies are already in the process of going to an initial public offering (IPO) until February 2023.

Director of Company Assessment of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) I Gede Nyoman Yetna said, of the 50 IPO pipeline companies, 17 companies had officially listed on the stock exchange earlier this year and 33 companies were still in line for an IPO.

"What makes us happy, after 59 IPOs in 2022. There are already 50 (companies) pipelines (in the process) at the beginning of 2023, only 17 IPOs until February," said Nyoman quoting Antara, Tuesday, February 14.

Meanwhile, his party is targeting as many as 70 new instruments on the Indonesian capital market throughout 2023, an increase from 2022 of 67 instruments.

Previously, throughout 2022 59 companies listed their initial shares on the IDX.

"Our structured warrants have a new instrument that we hope can excite the market and investors," said Nyoman.

In terms of sector, he explained that companies that have and will carry out IPOs give growth signals from each sector.

Thus, he is optimistic that the country's capital market will grow positively throughout 2023 supported by the recovery of the domestic economy in line with the opening of activity restrictions as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

"There are about 13 sectors on the IDX, from various sectors the growth is reflected in the representation of the number of listed companies," said Nyoman.

On this occasion, his party also targets the number of investors to increase by 35 per cent year on year (YoY) so far this year to 13.92 million investors from the previous 10.31 million investors in 2022.

In addition, his party targets the average daily trading transactions on the IDX to reach IDR 14.75 trillion per day, up from the previous IDR 14.7 trillion per day.
