PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the Indonesian government is currently continuing preparations for the Opening of the 10th World Water Forum Meeting at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on February 15-16, 2023.

"Later, the kick-off meeting is targeted to be attended by 1,000 participants. Each participant can contribute to efforts to find solutions to the challenges of the water sector, both on regional, national and global scales," Basuki said in his official statement, quoted on Monday, February 6.

As of February 1, there were 672 participants who registered, consisting of 503 people from within the country (national) and 169 international participants.

The government targets the presence of heads of state, ministers, 10,000 delegates and 30,000 participants (including participants, exhibition visitors on water and MSMEs) from 172 countries consisting of elements of the government, parliament, private sector, academics, practitioners, associations and the public within the national and international sphere.

"It is hoped that the number of participants who register will continue to grow. If the kick-off meeting alone reaches 1,000 participants, we hope that during the main event of the 10th World Water Forum, more participants will attend," said Basuki.

"Kick-off meetings will be filled with various discussions discussing the challenges in the field of water," he continued.

The opening of the 10th World Water Forum is known to be the first meeting for stakeholders in the management of water resources (SDA).

The World Water Forum itself is the largest cross-border forum in the world that focuses on discussing water issues and looking for global solutions as an answer to this.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the key to the success of an international event was cooperation from all relevant parties.

"Based on the experience of implementing the G20, the key to the success of holding the 10th World Water Forum in 2024 in Bali is the mutual cooperation and cohesiveness of all institutions/institutions, both in the central government and local governments," he added.

For your information, the 10th World Water Forum will be held on 18-24 May 2024 and carry the theme "Water for Sharing Property". By bringing hope, that the World Water Forum is a place for various stakeholders from all over the country to share experiences and innovations to respond to various water management challenges globally.
