JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) together with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) initiated an IDCamp X KADIN 2023 collaboration program whose registration has been opened from January 10 to February 10.

IDCamp is the second program from the KADIN Academy which is an online and globally certified coding or programming scholarship. Starting with online coding training for basics and start-ups, the program will last until August 2023.

Previously, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry had collaborated with Google Indonesia by providing around 1,100 scholarships to young Indonesian talents.

Deputy Chairperson for Communication and Information Technology of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Firlie H Ganinduto, said that this program can be used properly by young people to innovate and be creative.

"We are very happy to partner with IOH because we have the same vision to support Indonesia's vision of creating digital talent," Firlie said in his official statement, Tuesday, January 10.

"We hope that many young Indonesians can take advantage of this opportunity to develop their creativity, as well as help KADIN in the regions in mapping the needs of skills in their respective regions so that these IDCamp x KADIN graduates can be distributed directly," he continued.

Firlie also said that in addition to helping improve skills, graduates of this program are also directly connected to job opportunities through the assistance of KADINDA to provide jobs for IDCamp x KADIN graduates.

"Currently, the Indonesian government is targeting nine million new digital talents or the equivalent of 600,000 digital talents per year. One of the 4 main pillars of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the development of entrepreneurship and competence. Therefore, this program is one of the implementations of the main pillars of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry," Firlie explained.

With this program, Firlie hopes that his party will be able to assist the government's mission to fill the gap in the availability of qualified digital talent.

Meanwhile, Indosat Ooredoo's SVP Head of Corporate Communication Hutchison Steve Saerang explained, IOH's commitment is to empower Indonesia through fulfilling the needs of digital talent through IDCamp with the spirit of mutual cooperation.

"We believe that this collaboration with KADIN will support Indonesia to become the center of digital power in Asia Pacific and in the future will contribute to Indonesia's digital economy growth," added Steve.

For your information, this program will be carried out in three regions, namely Solo, Medan, and Makassar, by targeting as many as 3,000 young talents. This program is expected to be able to create an evenly distributed Indonesian digital education ecosystem.

From 3000 participants, they will be re-selected to 100 participants on March 15, 2023. A total of 100 participants who have successfully graduated with the best value from each city will be given Intermediate Class Scholarships to take part in online training.

Furthermore, 50 of the best participants will be re-elected in each city to take part in offline training. The participants will later receive a special challenge and the winner will be announced in August 2023.
