Depok City Government Has Succeeded In Reducing The Unemployment Rate Of 2 Percent, Mayor: Thanks To The Implementation Of The 5,000 New Entrepreneurs Program

JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Depok, West Java, managed to reduce the unemployment rate by two percent to 7.50 percent from the previous 9.81 percent.

"Unemployment in Depok City in 2021 will reach 9.81 percent with around 100 thousand unemployed citizens. Thank God this year, according to the BPS (Central Statistics Agency) survey, unemployment in Depok fell by two percent to 7.50 percent," said Mayor Mohammad Idris in Depok, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 11.

Mayor Idris said the efforts made by the Depok City Government to reduce the unemployment rate were through the 5,000 New Entrepreneurs Program (WUB) and 1,000 Business Entrepreneurs.

"With the implementation of New Entrepreneurs or WUBs out of a total of 6,000 new entrepreneurs that we have planned until 2024, now 2,100 new entrepreneurs have been created that we have fostered until they become entrepreneurs who in the future can progress even more," said Mohammad Idris.

"So mothers, brothers, baba, mpok, MSME players who have not registered quickly through the village, because there is a coordinator as a new entrepreneur, later selected, taught, ordered to register," said Mohammad Idris.

"Next year, God willing, we will add another 2,100, register immediately," said the Mayor of Depok.

He said, various benefits were obtained by MSME actors to register with the program, such as being facilitated in obtaining a Domestic Industry Production Permit (PIRT).

"This is what we are trying to do to register first, later it's just a matter of packing and writing the expiration date or expiration date of the product, so when people drink or consume they don't hesitate anymore," said Mohammad Idris.
