Ahead Of The 2022 Rapimnas, The Indonesian Chamber Of Commerce And Industry Will Discuss Strengthening MSMEs

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid said, currently the world, including Indonesia, is facing a recession threat.

For this reason, through the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas), the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the umbrella of business organizations will strengthen the position of MSMEs as the backbone of the national economy.

For your information, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will hold a National Rapimnas in early December 2022.

This year's Rapimnas carries the theme Kadin Strong, MSME Strong, Regional Economy and Strong National, Advanced Indonesia.

Arsjad said the 2022 Kadin Rapimnas also aims to respond to the national and global economic situation amid the threat of recession.

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the home of entrepreneurs also continues to update work programs to be adjusted to current conditions and continues to strengthen the organization's internal consolidation.

"The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a strategic partner of the government will continue to strive to anticipate the impact of this threat. One of them is by strengthening Indonesian MSMEs so that they can strengthen the national and regional economy. MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy," he said at the Kadin Tower, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 29.

In 2021, continued Arsjad, MSMEs themselves contributed 61.07 percent to GDP or Rp. 8,573.89 trillion.

MSMEs also absorb and provide jobs for 97 percent of the total workforce or around 117 million workers. Currently, the number of MSMEs reaches 64.2 million.

"Imposing Indonesian MSMEs to advance to class is one of the focuses of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, so that it can further strengthen the Indonesian economy and be able to realize Golden Indonesia in 2045," said Arsjad.

Furthermore, Arsjad said, it is important to strengthen the synergy and collaboration of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with local governments and the central government in realizing an Advanced Indonesia through Strong MSMEs, Regional Economy and Strong National.

Rapimnas, continued Arsjad, will be a forum for sharing, collaborating and discussing between national and regional entrepreneurs, major and small entrepreneurs related to the recovery of the business world and the post-pandemic country's economy and measuring the success of the performance and steps of economic recovery that have been carried out over the past year.

"Rapimnas is also a forum to strengthen the four pillars of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, namely strengthening health, developing regional economies, increasing entrepreneurship and competence, as well as internal improvements to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and regulations," he said.
