Meet Jokowi Ahead of the G20 Summit, Joe Biden Ensures the US Supports Indonesia to Become a New Economic Growth Center

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir was one of the ministers who attended the meeting of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with President of the United States (US) Joe Biden in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, today.

Erick said that the meeting between Jokowi and Biden took place ahead of the G20 Summit which will begin on Tuesday, November 15.

"Thank God, Mr. President Jokowi has met with US President Joe Biden. The President really appreciated Biden's presence to attend the G20 Summit in Bali", Erick said in an official statement, Monday, November 14.

Biden said Erick, also greatly appreciated Indonesia's leadership in the G20. According to Biden, continued Erick, Indonesia has great potential to be more advanced because it has abundant natural resources (SDA) and quality human resources (HR).

"Earlier, Biden hoped for a role in Indonesia as the leader of Southeast Asia and hoped that Indonesia could strengthen relations between Southeast Asian countries and the United States", said Erick.

Erick said the seriousness of the Indonesian government in accelerating the energy transition had become a worldwide concern, including in the US. Biden, Erick said, fully supports Indonesia's steps in making the transition to renewable energy.

"Biden is also committed to supporting the improvement and development of the Indonesian economy as the center of world economic growth", he said.
