APBN Creates Source Of "Sumber Air Su Dekat" Through The Development Of The Raknamo Dam In Kupang NTT

JAKARTA The government through the Ministry of Finance continues its commitment to providing basic infrastructure services for the community. Most recently, Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, directly inspected the Raknamo Dam in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

During his official visit, Suahasil explained that the construction of the reservoir was financed by the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and was a priority for the central government.

"We hope that this dam can then also be further developed for the drinking water supply system (SPAM) and that later the potential can be done", said Suahasil in a press statement on Monday, September 26.

The Sri Mulyani representative also said that the government is encouraging this water infrastructure facility to be an attraction for the surrounding community so that it has the potential to grow a new economic sector.

"We also want the Raknamo Dam to be developed into a tourism area", he said.

For information, the construction of the Raknamo Dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) funded by the APBN with a budget value of IDR 723 billion. Meanwhile, the construction process started from 2015 to 2018 and is currently still in the process of filling and managing raw water.

Later, the Raknamo Dam will play a central role in meeting irrigation needs for 840 hectares to 1,300 hectares of agricultural land.

"Hopefully the existence of this dam will not only be a project but then become the beginning of various advanced projects and community economic activities that can benefit the community, especially around Kupang and also for East Nusa Tenggara", concluded Suahasil Nazara.
