JAKARTA - The Field Development Project for the Jambaran Tiung Biru Gas Unitization located in Bandungrejo Village, Ngasem, Bojonegoro, East Java, succeeded in draining the first gas or Gas On Stream (GoS) on Tuesday, September 20.

GoS merupakan tahap penalir gas dari Gas Processing Facility (GPF) menuju metering area untuk disalurkan ke pipa distribution yang selanjutnya diterima oleh para pembeli dari gas tersebut.

Last August, Pertamina EP Cepu and its implementing partners succeeded in gas in or the process of draining gas from wells to GPF as an important part of this project.

Pertamina EP President Director Cepu Awang Lazuardi said the gas distribution process had gone through a crucial stage full of challenges, as a result of the hard work of all parties involved in the gas project.

"Alhamdulillah, we can overcome various challenges together and finally JTB gas can be channeled to the metering to be distributed to buyers. Thus, JTB gas has officially made a real contribution to the fulfillment of national energy," said Awang in his statement, Friday, September 23.

The JTB Gas Unitization Field Development Project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) of the energy sector under PT Pertamina Persero which was determined by President Joko Widodo through Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of the Implementation of National Strategic Projects.

JTB is projected to become one of the largest gas producer candidates in Indonesia with gas sales production reaching 192 Million Standard Customs Feet per Day (MMSCFD). Of these, 100 MMSCFD have been prepared to meet the needs of PT PLN's power generation gas.

Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto said that the presence of the JTB gas project not only contributed to increasing national oil and gas production, but also created a multiplier effect.

The JTB gas project has helped to move the national supporting industry as well as local entrepreneurs as well as the community's economy around the project, so that the existence of the JTB project is felt greatly for efforts to increase the national capacity of support for the development of the economy around the project.

"Another positive aspect of the success of this project is the fulfillment of the regional energy needs and the availability of industrial raw materials to support economic growth," said Dwi.

Furthermore, Dwi said, the JTB gas project will provide gas availability on the island of Java which is large so that it can encourage economic improvement both regionally and nationally.

The success of the JTB gas project will be an important stepping stone to support efforts to achieve the target of increasing national oil and gas production by 2030, namely oil production of 1 million barrels and gas of 12 BSCFD.

"Along with the momentum of national economic recovery, the success of the JTB Project Gas on Stream will increase gas supply so that it has an impact on support for increasing national industrial capacity so that it has a positive impact on economic recovery," concluded Dwi.
