After Hutama Karya, Now Wijaya Karya's Birthday Who Gets A Project At IKN: Build Toll Roads And Hunian For Workers

JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk or WIKA won two projects for the construction of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan, namely the Kariangau Toll Road project - Tempadung Intersection and housing for workers.

WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said the government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) had auctioned several work packages where some had signed contracts and most of them were in the auction process.

"There are two that we have received and have started working there, the first is the Toll Road from Kariangau to the Tempadung Intersection, where today a pre construction meeting has been held so that starting this week we have started the implementation for the toll road," Agung said at the 2022 Public Expose online quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 13.

In addition, WIKA has also been appointed and has started working at IKN regarding residential development projects for workers, where WIKA implements development using modular technology which is a superior of WIKA Buildings. This technology allows development to be carried out quickly with good quality and aesthetics, at a fairly high speed.

"Besides that, we are processing several tenders carried out by the Ministry of PUPR, so it is as if I have conveyed that our target for IKN is quite large because it is a budget from the government which is a priority for WIKA," said Agung.

He said the IKN project was an attraction for WIKA as a construction business actor. Regarding the preparation, he continued, WIKA has prepared very well at IKN starting from the office in East Kalimantan.

Then WIKA also has experience in the construction of the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road for approximately 90 km, so WIKA knows exactly the conditions around IKN.

Previously, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) managed to win the 13 km Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau Toll Road Nusantara State Capital (IKN) project.

"So far, Hutama Karya has received a contract for the construction of IKN, for the first contract of Rp3.47 trillion related to the development of toll roads," said Director of Operations I Hutama Karya Gunadi Soekardjo in the HK ExperTalk webinar quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 8.

The Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau toll road IKN plays a role in connecting the center of state activities, this toll road will eventually shorten the travel time between IKN Nusantara and Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan.

The toll road project is also the first step in Hutama Karya's contribution, where the project package became the beginning of Hutama Karya's involvement in infrastructure development at IKN.
