Public Transport Tariffs in Tangerang Increase by IDR 2,000 Due to Fuel Increase

JAKARTA - The Land Transport Organization (Organda) of Tangerang Regency, Banten, decided to increase the tariff for public transportation in its area by IDR 2,000 as a result of the increase in fuel oil (BBM).

The head of the Tangerang Regency Organda, Daeng in Tangerang, Tuesday, September 6, said that the increase in transportation fares was the result of a joint study and agreement so that public transportation could continue to operate amid rising fuel prices.

In addition, he continued, this tariff adjustment will only apply to urban transportation within the province and rural transportation in the region.

"The average increase from the starting point to the endpoint is IDR 2,000. This is only public transportation, especially city transportation within the province and one more rural transportation", he said, quoted by Antara.

As for the new tariffs for public transportation that have been agreed upon, such as the Adiyasa-Balaraja route or vice versa, from IDR 11,000 to IDR 13,000. Then Adiyasa-Pos Sentul from IDR 9,000 to IDR 11,000, and Adiyasa-Cangkudu from IDR 8,000 to IDR 10,000. Meanwhile, the short distance only increased by IDR 1,000, from the price of IDR 3,000 to IDR 4,000.

"The steps we take are adjustments, calculated on the distance traveled by our colleagues every day", he said.

With the adjustment of several public transportation fares, his party has now carried out socialization to the public as service users.

He also emphasized that if people find a driver or public transportation company charging more than the specified fare, they can immediately report it to his party.

"It has gone up as of Monday, September 5. We will socialize it later. If anyone increases the tariff beyond that, it will be reported", he said.
