Sri Mulyani's Message Creates Mothers-Emak: Subsidy Country IDR 42,000 At Each Elpiji Gas 3 Kg

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, emphasized that until now the government is still providing subsidies for various important necessities. One of them is 3 kilograms of LPG (Kg) gas.

According to the Minister of Finance, the value of the state budget that has been disbursed in these energy commodities is quite large, even reaching trillions of value. In his explanation, he revealed that the selling price received by the community was IDR 4,250 per kg.

In fact, the current economic value of gas prices in the market is IDR 18,500 per kg. That means that domestic consumers receive a subsidy of around IDR 14,250 for every one kg of melon gas.

"So every time we buy a 3kg LPG, we imagine that they get more than IDR 42,000", she said when holding a press conference on Friday, August 26.

The Minister of Finance added that in the 2022 State Budget Law the allocation of subsidies for LPG and fuel was IDR 77.5 trillion. This figure then swelled with the addition of subsidies to IDR 149.4 trillion.

The government has added a much larger LPG subsidy and fuel to protect the public from rising prices caused by global factors. This step is intended to maintain purchasing power and support the national economic recovery", she said.

In general, the overall value of the compensation subsidy for the 2022 period (BBM, gas, and electricity) is IDR 502 trillion from the initial only around IDR 158 trillion.

The surge in the allocation of funds has not been able to balance the pace of public consumption which is quite high due to the current easing of mobility.

The Minister of Finance said that the subsidized Pertalite stock will run out at the end of September. Likewise, diesel is only able to last the longest until October.
