JAKARTA - The management of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk alias Alfamart has stated that it is ready to provide full employment protection to its employees. This also includes employees who are now under pressure after being threatened by the ITE Law by the mother of a chocolate thief which has gone viral on social media.

Alfamart is owned by one of the richest people in Indonesia and is worth US$2.9 billion or equivalent to IDR 43.5 trillion. He is Djoko Susanto.

Djoko Susanto is the founder and big boss of Alfamart. Djoko Susanto is included in the list of Indonesia's 50 richest people in 2022. Even now Djoko is ranked 9th in the Forbes 2022 list of the richest people in Indonesia.

In the hands of Djoko Susanto, Alfamart has more than 18,000 stores throughout Indonesia. Djoko Susanto developed the Alfa Supermarket retail business which is currently under the management of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk.

Its property division Alfaland operates Omega Hotel Management throughout Indonesia. Djoko is the sixth of 10 children, Djoko started running a simple food stall owned by his parents in a traditional market in Jakarta at the age of 17 years.

Previously, Alfamart deeply regretted the unilateral actions taken by consumers by bringing in lawyers which made its employees depressed.

"Alfamart is conducting further internal investigations, and if necessary, will take further legal steps", wrote a statement from Alfamart's management.

An Alfamart employee who was threatened by the ITE Law by a consumer is true, what happened on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 10.30 WIB at Alfamart Sampora, Sampora Village, Cisauk District, South Tangerang.

"Our employees witnessed incidents of consumers taking goods without paying. After being asked to account, the consumer just paid for the chocolate that he had taken", said Alfamart management in a written statement.

Not only taking chocolate, based on the results of the investigation, the consumer employee also took several other products without paying.
