A Total Of 780 PJUTS Lamp Units Installed In Gresik And Lamongan

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Ditjen EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) inaugurated the installation of Solar Street Lighting (PJUTS) in Gresik and Lamongan Regencies, East Java Province.

Previously, the Directorate General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources inaugurated PJUTS in Makassar, Cianjur and in Batam.

This PJUTS is a series of energy saving programs carried out by the Government to provide information to the public with environmentally friendly energy sources instead of fossil energy sources that produce high emissions.

Currently, for Gresik and Lamongan Regencies, 780 PJUTS units have been installed. The details are 425 units in Lamongan Regency and 355 in Gresik Regency.

"We previously used mercury lamps where the power output was quite high, we replaced them with lower wattage LED lamps so that savings occurred. Because the energy released comes from fossil energy, the emissions produced are also small. So this is what underlies us retrofit the PJU," explained the Director General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Andriah Feby Misna in an official statement, Monday, August 8.

The PJU retrofit activity, continued Feby, was welcomed by the Regional Government.

Until finally the activity developed by providing PJU that is not dependent on PLN and then combined with solar energy generators.

"By providing solar-powered PJUs, we no longer depend on electricity sources from PLN," said Feby.

Furthermore, the PJUTS assistance provided by the government is expected to be maintained properly so that its use can be longer and if there is a disturbance, immediately contact the relevant parties that have been determined.

"Our hope is that what we have built can provide the greatest benefit to the community and we also hope that the existing PJUTS can be maintained so that they last a long time and if anyone experiences problems, they can contact the technician because this lamp has a three year warranty. In the same place, member of Commission VII DPR RI, Dyah Roro Widya Putri, thanked the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for providing public street lighting assistance to the community.

According to him, the provision of this assistance is urgently needed and its impact on the community is felt.

"This program is a sustainable program, the main program is not only the lighting program, but how the Indonesian state can commit to reducing carbon emissions. This carbon emission is something that is invisible but greatly affects human health," said Roro.

The program of the central government and the legislature, Roro continued, is here to create a sustainable future so that in the future we can reduce carbon emissions by using environmentally friendly energy sources that do not emit a lot of carbon.

The PJUTS Installation Program is a program of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources supported by Commission VII DPR-RI and local governments, as one of the solutions for electricity efficiency for lighting that is focused on rural roads, especially those that are difficult to reach by the PLN network.

This program is very beneficial for the Regional Government to save on the expenditure of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) which comes from the street lighting tax.

Until 2021, 22,000 PJUTS have been built or the equivalent of lighting up 1,100 km of roads, which are spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia.

Thus, the PJUTS installation program has been implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources from the 2015 to 2021 budget year with a total of 90,687 units or the equivalent of lighting up 4,534 KM roads.

The PJUTS provided in this program has a 1 year maintenance guarantee plus a 2 year system warranty from the end of the maintenance guarantee, so a total of 3 years of repair warranty is borne by the provider.
