The Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Artati Widiarti, in a press conference on the Achievement of KKP Performance in Semester I 2022 revealed that the realization of investment in the first half of 2022 is estimated to reach IDR 4.04 trillion or 36.29 percent. compared to the first semester of 2021.

"In the first quarter, the realization was IDR 2.34 trillion, up 59.28 percent compared to the same period last year. In the first semester of 2022, it is estimated that it will reach IDR 4.04 trillion, or an increase of 36 percent more. For the export performance of marine and fishery products, KKP recorded a trade balance surplus in the marine and fisheries sector which rose 15.89 percent compared to the same period the previous year with a value of US$2.74 billion or IDR 40.59 trillion.

"Alhamdulillah, the export value of our fishery products continues to rise, as does the trade balance. In June alone, our export value reached IDR 7.86 trillion, up from the previous month, and we are still a net fish exporter", said Artati.

The total value of Indonesia's exports in the first semester of 2022 reached US$3.06 billion or IDR 45.36 trillion, up 18.18 percent over the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, the import value in the first semester was US$321.82 million, or only 10.52 percent of the total export value.

Artati said several commodities that contributed to the main exports included shrimp, tuna, tuna, skipjack tuna (TTC), squid - cuttlefish - octopus, and seaweed. Each of these commodities experienced an increase in terms of volume and export value.
