40,000 People Visit Sarinah Per Day, Erick Thohir: Become A Destination Center In Jakarta

JAKARTA - After a major renovation and opened to the public since last March, the total visitors to the Sarinah Building reached 5 million people.

While the level of visits per day reached 40,000 people. This shows that Sarinah is now a central destination in Jakarta.

This was conveyed by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during the inauguration of the Sarinah Building, this afternoon.

"I can report, thank God, the total visitors after being opened for 4 months totaled 5 million visitors, from all over Indonesia, Mr. And this is approximately 40,000 visitors per day who attend Sarinah. Therefore, Sarinah has become one of the most popular destination centers. The destination is now in Jakarta," said Erick, Thursday, July 14.

Erick said that the new Sarinah was a testament to the hard work of various parties.

One of them is the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which grants renovation and repair permits as well as the construction of parking facilities.

"This is something that is certainly our belief, if we want to work together to give seriously, not half-assed and in detail, this can happen," he said.

For your information, Sarinah, which has just been inaugurated, will focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and develop local products to be marketed in the global arena.

These products are diverse, including chocolate. This product has also been curated by the authorities.

Even so, in this new business scheme, the management of PT Sarinah still accommodates foreign products.

However, with a note, market players from foreign products can cooperate with MSMEs.

The Sarinah building was officially reopened in March 2022, after being closed due to the building renovation process.

The opening of a shopping center in the Thamrin-Sudirman area was inaugurated by the Ministry of SOEs as shareholder and Sarinah as management.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the new face of the Sarinah Building after a major renovation. Actually, Sarinah has been opened to the public since March 21, but it was only officially inaugurated today.

"Alhamdulillah, today we can witness Sarinah's new face. By saying bisamillah this afternoon, I inaugurate Sarinah's transformation," said Jokowi.
