Antam And Hartadinata Launch Anti-Counterfeit Pure Gold Bars

JAKARTA - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk or Antam through its subsidiary PT Emas Antam Indonesia (EAI) together with PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk released pure gold bullion which has BullionProtect protection technology to prevent counterfeiting of pure gold bullion products.

The protection technology from Switzerland makes pure gold bullion products with the EmasKITA trademark that can be held directly without reducing the authenticity of the gold.

"If so far you only hold the skin, now you can hold the gold directly", said Antam Indonesia's Gold President Director Bambang Wijanarko at the GoldenKITA product launch event at Antam Tower B, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 12.

Bambang said cases of counterfeiting of pure gold bullion have become increasingly worrying in recent years. Counterfeit gold bars do not contain the stated amount of gold, perhaps because they have been mixed with other metals or may not contain gold at all.

In addition, there are also cases of counterfeiting gold bullion products made from high-purity gold, but falsifying the brand or the serial number of a leading manufacturer.

Pure gold bullion producers who sell their products in Indonesia then wrap their products in tightly closed packaging for security reasons to avoid the risk of counterfeiting.

The security feature for proof of product authenticity is always affixed to the certificate by placing a hologram, security QR code, security ink & paper. This is the reason why certificates and pure gold bullion products are always tightly wrapped in one unit so that the gold products cannot be directly handled.

"We heard there was a customer desire to buy pure gold bullion that can be held directly. Antam and Hartadinata provide security feature solutions that are attached directly to pure gold products, so we no longer need to pack the product tightly, especially since this technology can anticipate gold counterfeiting", Bambang explained.

The pure gold bar products with new packaging and exclusive designs have sizes of 10 grams, 25 grams, 50 grams, and 100 grams.

President Director Hartadinata Abadi, Sandra Sunanto, said his party and Antam are committed to always bringing innovation to encourage public interest in investing in gold.

"The addition of the BullionProtect® security feature on EmasKITA products is an added value. Present in exclusive packaging, consumers can issue their gold products without worrying about counterfeiting", said Sandra.

BullionProtect® technology is the latest technology to protect the authenticity of precious metals developed by SICPA in collaboration with METALOR Technologies.

This technology has been proven to be able to fight and anticipate counterfeiting of goods circulating in the market, including gold bullion products by affixing security ink on the surface of pure gold bullion products.

In using this technology, Antam and Hartadinata collaborated with SICPA, a global provider of security solutions for trusted currencies as well as secure identification, traceability, and authentication solutions.

Sicpa Peruri Securink Technical Director, Eric Italiano, explained that security technology is a security solution that allows all actors in the supply chain to authenticate pure gold bullion products according to LBMA guidelines.

"The security seal has inherent properties that can be unequivocally identified and verified", said Eric.

The visual verification method can be done using a validator in the form of a card that is easy to use. When viewed with the validator, the design label looks reddish-brown on the left filter, while on the right filter the color changes and the logo is more visible.

In addition to BullionProtect technology, EmasKITA products also have other existing security features, such as the security QR code that is printed on the back of the product packaging.

During the scanning process, the device will automatically connect to www.emaskita.id page. If the GoldKITA product you own is genuine, a notification that says 'Original Product' will appear along with product information.

Antam and Hartadinata hope that public interest in gold investment will also increase along with the increased security features of the EmasKITA product. Moreover, now pure gold bars are available that can be held directly, thus encouraging more and more people to invest in gold as part of their lifestyle.
