Pertamina, Medco, And TEL Get Contract Extensions For The Senoro-Toili WK

JAKARTA - Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi, has officially received a contract extension as the operator of the Senoro-Toili Working Area (WK) through the signing of the Senoro-Toili WK Extension Contract which has been approved by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arifin Tasrif.

The signing process of the Senoro-Toili WK began on April 7, 2022, by SKK Migas and the Senoro-Toili contractors consisting of Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi, PT Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi (Medco E&P), and Tomori E&P Limited (TEL).

The ownership of the PI WK Senoro-Toili post-termination remains the same as it is today, namely Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi 50 percent, MedcoEnergi 30 percent, and TEL 20 percent. WK Senoro Toili, which will expire on December 03, 2027, has been extended until the period 2047.

Awang Lazuardi, Director of PHE TS who is a member of the Eastern Indonesia Subholding Upstream Region, explained that the extension of the Senoro-Toili WK is in line with Pertamina's long-term plan, where this WK is one of the priorities to get certainty about the contract extension immediately because it still has very good development potential.

"Pertamina is also committed to continuing strategic partnerships with existing partners to maximize synergy and alignment in the management and long-term investment in this CA", said Awang to the media, Wednesday, June 22.

The Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto, congratulated the contractors on their success in getting the Senoro-Toili WK contract extension.

"We appreciate the contractors' long-term investment commitment so that through the extension of the Senoro Toili WK PSC, it is hoped that it can add to its contribution to the achievement of national production targets and provide benefits for the Indonesian people", he said.

The President Director of Medco E&P, Ronald Gunawan also expressed his support for the sustainability of the Senoro-Toili WK management.

"MedcoEnergi is grateful for the trust and support were given by the Government to continue the management of the Senoro-Toili WK and also for the good cooperation with PHE Tomori Sulawesi and TEL in the joint management of the Senoro-Toili WK so far. The company continues to be committed to meeting the production targets set. determined by the Government and contribute to industry and society through community empowerment programs around the operational area", said Ronald Gunawan.

To note, the first contract for the Senoro–Toili WK was signed in 1997 for a period of 30 years.

The Working Area recorded its first oil discovery in the Tiaka field in 1985 with its first production in 2005.

By the end of 2021, the Senoro–Toili WK has produced a total of 143 MMBOE (million barrels of oil equivalent).

With an area of 451 square kilometers, WK Senoro Toili will continue to strengthen energy production in the Central Sulawesi region by synergizing to supply gas for the Donggi Senoro LNG Plant and other consumers.
