JAKARTA – The government through the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) is said to have succeeded in establishing the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) together with G20 member countries at a meeting in Labuan Bajo earlier this week.

Head of Supreme Audit Agency, Isma Yatun, said the SIA20 collaboration was part of a series of initiation activities for the formation of an engagement group under the Indonesian Presidency.

"The high enthusiasm of members shows commitment to the role of SAI in encouraging collaboration, contribution, acceleration of post-COVID-19 economic recovery and efforts to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs)", he said in a press statement on Monday, June 20.

According to Isma, SAI20 is a forum to discuss the role of the examining body in two priority issues, namely accelerating economic recovery and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals.

"SAI20 will jointly build inclusivity and collaboration with various stakeholders, both in the auditing body community, and the G20 community to support strong and beneficial state financial management", he stressed.

Meanwhile, this meeting was attended by delegates at the Director-General level or echelon I level of SAI G20 members, both physically present in Labuan Bajo, such as Australia, Brazil, India, Russia, and Saudi Arabia as well as those attending virtual, namely Argentina, China, Korea, Mexico, South Africa, and Turkey.
